Strength Programs

 

Our team of Physiotherapists are experts in developing strengthening and exercise programs for older people. We conduct a number of home based programs designed to improve general strength, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness, posture, balance and endurance. We utilise your existing home equipment (eg. a step, bench space, a wall) so no expensive equipment is needed. We may recommend purchasing simple equipment, such as light weights or exercise therabands.

BUILD is our 1:1 general strengthening training program for older adults. A 6-week tailored program with ongoing options to build strength, endurance and balance. An wholistic program with closely supervised exercises customised to your specific needs will start to show measurable benefits after 6-8 weeks.

BREATHE is our 1:1 home based Pulmonary Rehab exercise program. For those with severe breathing difficulties, simply getting to a Rehab outpatient clinic for exercise sessions can be exhausting. We work in conjunction with hospitals and health professionals to bring the Rehab to you, We can conduct your Pulmonary Rehab sessions in your own home under our close supervision. We bring evidence based measurement tools and monitoring equipment to keep you safe during exercise and communicate regularly with your treating team.

PUMP is our home Cardio Rehab program for those recovering from cardiac surgery or a cardiac event. We tailor our programs to your fitness level and monitor you very closely for your exercise sessions. Participants in our PUMP program typically are supplementing their hospital based cardiac rehab with additional supervised sessions at home.

A medical referral is required for our BREATHE and PUMP programs.
